Little black flakes on the carpet. A seat that sticks to the back of your legs in summer, then splits. If your leather couch in Kempton Park is doing that, it’s usually bonded leather or a leather-look cover at the end of its life. Glue won’t hold it. The cover has to come off and a new one has to go on.
The frame is usually fine
Peeling starts where you touch the couch every day: the seats, the armrests, the headrest on a recliner. The frame underneath tends to outlast the cover by years, so you keep the couch and lose the peeling. The recliner in the before-and-after above came to us flaking in black and went home in tan.
I’m more impressed by their workmanship and neat finishing.

What you can choose
- Genuine leather. It costs more and ages with you.
- Leather-look. It’s kinder on the budget and wipes clean.
- Fabric. Some people are done with leather after one peel.
You’re not stuck with the colour you bought, either. Black can go tan, and grey can go burgundy. We bring samples of each to your home in Kempton Park so you can feel them before you decide.
What we don’t do
We don’t dye leather and we don’t do deep cleaning. If the surface has cracked through, a new cover is the repair that lasts. Kutlwano Mabusela wrote “Excellent work done to repair my furniture item”, and we’d rather tell you upfront which job your couch needs.
Read leather couch repair for the difference between a repair and a re-cover. Then WhatsApp 074 019 9297 with one photo of the worst patch and one of the whole couch.
Questions we get asked
Do you collect in Kempton Park?
Yes. We collect anywhere in Gauteng, including Kempton Park. WhatsApp a photo to 074 019 9297 and we'll quote you and book a collection day.
Can you dye or clean my leather instead of re-covering it?
No. We don't dye leather and we don't do deep cleaning. When the surface is cracking or peeling, we re-cover the couch on its own frame.
