In short
How we've built this website so that you can use it with a keyboard, a screen reader or zoom, what we know isn't perfect yet, and how to tell us.
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including if you use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or zoom to 200%. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we’ve done
- Skip link. The first thing a keyboard reaches is a “Skip to content” link.
- Photo descriptions. Photos of our work carry a written description. Decorative background images are hidden from screen readers.
- The before-and-after slider is a standard slider control, so you can move it with the arrow keys as well as by dragging.
- Colour contrast. Our orange text is a darker shade chosen to pass the WCAG contrast ratio of 4.5:1 on the ivory background.
- Headings and landmarks follow a clear order, so screen reader users can jump between sections.
- No time limits and nothing that flashes. The two short clips in “How it works” on the home page are silent, play only while they’re on screen, and don’t play at all if your device is set to reduce motion.
What we know isn’t perfect
- The quote form opens WhatsApp to send your message. If WhatsApp doesn’t suit you, call 074 019 9297 or email info@trysoficprojects.co.za instead.
- Customer reviews are quoted exactly as written, including their spelling and emoji.
- This site hasn’t been independently audited. If you find a problem, we want to know.
